Organic roses are known to have many health benefits. Dried rose petals nourish the skin with vitamin C and provide gentle exfoliation when used as a body scrub. Rose Absolute essential oil comforts the heart and, bonus, it smells divine. The combination of both in a homemade scrub results in an incredible treat for yourself or to give to a loved one. It takes about 10 minutes to make and will last a few weeks if stored in an airtight container.
You will need:
1 cup fine pink Himalayan salt
½ cup dried rose petals (found in the bulk tea section in most natural foods stores)
½ cup grapeseed oil (sweet almond oil also works well)
10 drops Rose Absolute essential oil
How to make it:
Grind the dried rose petals in a food processor or spice grinder…the ½ cup will reduce to about ¼ cup. In a small bowl, add all ingredients and stir until well blended. If you prefer a drier scrub, use less grapeseed oil. Use twice weekly.
